Sam Kupec's Honor Flight
What a day!
Each state has its own pillar at the memorial.
On May 14, 2011, I had the privilege of serving as companion/guardian for my dad, Sam Kupec, during the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. I've created this website to share our wonderful experience with family and friends.
You can visit any page on the site, in any order, by clicking on the titles above: "WWII Memorial," "Other Sites," etc.
This was the 10th trip that Stars and Stripes Honor Flight of Wisconsin took to the World War II Memorial. A Delta Airlines Boeing 757 transported our 125 veterans and 125 guardian companions from Milwaukee to Washington. Dad and I got to sit in first class....whoo-hoo!
When we arrived at Dulles International Airport, our group boarded four luxurious tour buses and enjoyed a police escort everywhere we went throughout the day in Washington, D.C.
